In the new issue of SOD they are talking about the final week of One Life To Live.Jerry Ver Dorn said the show might rearrange the scenes on the final show.So no one will know what the final scene will but he hopes Erika Slezak is in it because that's fitting.Kristen Alderson said they taped 2 endings for her character and she doesn't know which one they'll use.As for the stories in the week everyone's still dealing with the prison break/aftermath.Once all that's resolved the characters move on.Rex,Gigi and Shane decide to leave town and have their goodbyes with everyone.Destiny gives birth but not in a hospital.Melissa Archer said that Nat and John's story is left open but it does have some kind of closure to it.The Fraternity Row also ends.Roxy meets characters played Agnes Nixon,Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini.The characters Frank and Ron are going to play were originally scripted for Prospect Park's Rich Frank but he backed out of it.In the final week there's a death,a bith and a surprising proposal.

Life After 'Life' Is a Mystery

Last April, veteran daytime actress Ilene Kristen was finishing a yoga class near her Upper
West Side apartment when she received a frantic message on her cell phone. It was her agent
informing her that "One Life to Live," the ABC soap opera on which she'd portrayed Roxy
Balsom since 2001, had just been canceled along with its iconic suds sibling, "All My Children."

"Shock is the only word to describe it," said Ms. Kristen, who has also played minor parts

on "Law & Order," "The Sopranos" and on Broadway, and is probably best remembered as the
scheming Delia on "Ryan's Hope," the Emmy-nominated soap of the 1970s and '80s. "We'd
been hearing rumors about both shows for months, but until I got the call I didn't think it was
going to happen. I was dumbfounded."

Seven months later, she still is. So were many of her "One Life to Live" castmates last Thursday
as they gathered to tape the series's final episodes for television, which will be broadcast in
January after 11,096 shows and 43 years on the air. Talks are under way to relaunch "One
Life to Live" on the Internet through the production company Prospect Park, though similar
plans for "All My Children" were recently scrapped. Its weekday 2 p.m. slot will be filled by "The
Revolution," a health and lifestyle program from the producers of "The Biggest Loser."

Outside ABC's West 66th Street studios, fans stood with flowers for the fictional citizens of
Llanview. Three floors above, in the life-size doll house that is the "One Life to Live" set, Ms. Kristen, longtime regular Erika Slezak (who has played Vicki Lord since 1971), and onscreen
spouses Robert Woods (Bo) and Hillary B. Smith (Nora) struggled to remember their lines and
not break down.

"The hardest part is saying goodbye and realizing we may never see each other again," said Mr.
Woods, who joined the cast in 1979 and, as Bo, endured the deaths of two wives, a fiancée and
a son, was shot, and slept with his father's ex-mistress while time-traveling back to 1968. "We
work so closely here and it's like a family. I did a lot of other things over the years, like 'The
Waltons' and 'Police Story' and movies of the week, but this show was the job that gave me
recognition."

For many of the cast members, the show's consistency through the decades has allowed
for precisely the sort of security and comfort that their murdering, comatose, back-stabbing,
amnesiac, time-travelling characters always found so elusive.

"It provided me weekends and time with my children, and that you don't get in the theater," said
Ms. Smith, whose character survived a brain tumor, a stroke, blindness, and a kidnapping, only
to have her house burned down by a racist stalker. "It provided an opportunity for a normal life."

The final TV tapings of "One Life to Live," along with the recent departures of "All My
Children," "As the World Turns" and "Guiding Light," have marked not just the death-knell of
four shows whose genre has been on the decline for more than a decade, but something more
significant for New York.

As the last remaining daytime drama based in the city, "One Life to Live" also represents the
foreseeable end of New York's once-thriving soap-opera business. A cottage industry since
the 1950s, in its heyday it produced more than half the daytime dramas on the air, where full-
time contract players could fetch upward of $200,000 a year and struggling actors, writers and
musicians could earn enough to avoid waiting tables.

Besides helping to launch the careers of Laurence Fishburne, Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan
Phillipe, Hayden Panettiere, Phylicia Rashad and others, "One Life to Live" also offered steady
employment for thousands of technical staffers through the decades. But the format has been
all but devoured in recent years by the expanded cable universe and the advent of reality
television, where the plot lines are only slightly less believable.

Robert S. Woods and Hillary B. Smith, who have played married couple Bo and Nora Buchanan
on 'One Life to Live' for nearly two decades, at one of the final tapings.

"There were so many different factors," Ms. Smith said. "There was the advent of cable. There
was also that primetime started imitating daytime and being very successful at it. For some
reason, daytime thought they needed to imitate primetime and we became a poor imitation of
ourselves, a watered-down imitation of what we were."

Frank Valentini, the show's executive producer, said measures had been taken to reduce
overhead in recent years—including voluntary pay cuts for several principal cast members—but
acknowledged it may have come too late as ratings plummeted and production costs soared up
to $300,000 per episode.

"I think our leaving definitely shallows out every facet of the entertainment business in New York
because we keep so many people working at any given time," said Mr. Valentini, who's been
with "One Life to Live" for 26 years. "That includes not just our primary cast, but also people
who come on in short-term roles. Because we generate so many episodes, we make a lot of
money for the city, so this affects everyone, including the local vendors where we buy our props
and costumes."

Agnes Nixon, who created both "One Life to Live" and "All My Children" and was on-set for the
final taping, agreed. "There was nothing wrong with the story lines or the cast," she said. "It was
the cost and nobody could change that. But it's been 42 wonderful years, and how many people
have that? I can't complain too much."

As Thursday's shoot wound down, Ms. Kristen and her castmates paused to reflect on
the accomplishments of "One Life to Live" and plot their next moves, even as the online
reincarnation lingered on the horizon. On the rehearsal hall bulletin board hung an invitation to
the following night's wrap party at Capitale and a memo reminding everyone to clear out their
dressing rooms by Dec. 9.

"Of course I'm sad, but I'm not a depressive person and as an actor you're always back to
square one," Ms. Kristen said, choking back tears. "The one thing I know is that people stop
ironing when they see me, and they don't run to the refrigerator or put me on fast forward. That I
know. I could die as Roxy, and I hope we have the chance to continue it. I didn't think we'd have to say goodbye so quickly."

First, I want to thank all of you for being patient about waiting for me to comment on the latest re: Prospect Park’s funding issues with One Life To Live. While I had an inkling something was off due to tweets and Facebook posts yesterday, I refrained from posting until we got all the facts in. Too often, when we are told to expect bad news and an official announcement (that was never forthcoming) we unnecessarily panic and end up reacting instead of properly processing and strategically executing our next move.

Now that the majority of the facts are in (we will never get the 100 percent truth that is happening behind the scenes), here is my assessment of the events:

Prospect Park is a small entertainment company when you consider all the big networks and studios in Hollywood. They don’t have the manpower to keep up with all of us who are so passionate about the movement and fighting to keep AMC/OLTL on the air. Could they have done a better job in communicating with us? Yes. Could they have utilized us to help mobilize support and get sponsors and investors on board? Yes. Could they have hired a PR person to communicate with us and clear up any miscommunications? Heck Yes! Should they outsource professional PR help? Yes. Because by keeping silent, they are damaging their own brand and reputation in Hollywood with their very public setbacks. And perception means everything!! Do I believe this to be a smokescreen by ABC or a conpsiracy theory to throw us off track by Prospect Park? NO!!

After it was leaked several weeks ago that Prospect Park had just started to go to Silicon Valley to secure funding for AMC/OLTL, I already knew they were in trouble and PP was way off their timeline.

That being said, this deal was never meant to go public or leak early. Prospect Park does not have ALL its ducks in a row. At the same time I don’t think they thought they would be conducting their business under the intense glare of the spotlight we and the media have put on them. This is NOT how deals are done in Hollywood and the LAST thing they expected was inheriting a strong outspoken, passionate, fan base of soap viewers like us.

My take: The studio and funding issues are a MINOR setback for OLTL 2.0 and Prospect Park. While we should remain vigilant, we should also give the company breathing room to conduct business to SECURE the funding necessary to bring our shows back to life. Should they in the meantime throw us a bone here and there and keep us posted? Yes! They should hire a crisis management & crack PR team stat to rectify this situation which is causing them to get a public black eye. I won’t even get into the AFTRA situation which is another major hurdle that must be overcome before the shows can even begin FILMING.

Here’s what WE do know about the PP/OLTL studio and funding debacle:
SFU’s own Tammy Kreiss went to the OLTL studios Thursday and was able to get some answers from Bob Woods, OLTL EP Frank Valentini, OLTL HW Ron Carlivati and yes, OLTL creator Agnes Nixon!

It is true that ABC ordered OLTL to vacate the studios this week ASAP as soon as filming is complete. While Prospect Park has lost some funding, Carlivati & Valentini assured fans that they do have the money to secure a studio and that they are looking at options such as JC Studios (AW/ATWT/Cosby Show’s former home in Brooklyn) along with Silver Cup Studios in Queens where Sex and the City was filmed. There has been no official announcement as to WHY ABC wouldn’t cooperate with PP/OLTL and let them stay at their studios until Katie moves in as expected.
Regarding the funding issue, Carlivati & Valentini admitted that there has been issue with investors pulling out of Prospect Park and losing funding to keep the show in production. Both RC & FV say things are getting pushed back a little. They insist OLTL will be continuing – just not at this studio.

They say the studio itself is a “minor detail” and we (soap fans) don’t know if the funding has anything to do with ABC giving OLTL the boot at 320 W. 66 Street.
Why will OLTL go on despite what seems a major setback to the rest of us? Because according to a very emotional Bob Woods, both Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini are continuing the show for practically nothing. “You should see the huge pay cuts they had to take!” exclaimed Woods. According to Tammy Kreiss, Bob Woods convinced both Carlivati and Valentini to take a drastic pay cut to continue the legacy of the show. Carlivati is not giving up. He has continued to write for the show after it ends on ABC and has had to wrap up major storylines while continuing others for version 2.0. Woods said he has “every confidence OLTL will be back on soon,” and tearfully added that “Frank is going to make it happen.” Most importantly, Bob Woods added he has NOT been signed to PP due to funding issues and that while he has bought a new home upstate for his family, he WANTS to work for PP/OLTL and can commute to the new studio from his home.

Kreiss also had the opportunity to clear up the status of the Alderson clan on PP/OLTL: Momma Alderson told fans that the whole family is moving to LA for five months to “see what’s out there.” If there are no opportunities for them, Mrs. Alderson wants both her kids to return to PP/OLTL as “a family.” The Aldersons’ have given up their home in PA for the LA Move.

One mystery we were also able to clear up: according to Carlivati, the reason Jimmy DePaiva did not make the cut to return to the show as Max Holden is because of storyline constraints and budget issues with ABC. Carlivati made clear he loves Jimmy and that his absence was “nothing personal.” RC had to take into account all the other returns and where Max would fit in the canvas, especially with Blair juggling, Todd/Victor/Thomas.

Last but not least, when Agnes Nixon made her way out of the street after filming her scenes as the Head Writer of Fraternity Row, she was overwhelmed by all the fans showing her support and said “do not give up yet – we are only losing the studio.” Nixon said it has been a privilege to have been part of OLTL’s ending on ABC. Nixon, Valentini and Carlivati told Kreiss we are going to love this upcoming storyline dedicated to us (i.e. Roxy’s coupon campaign) starring Ilene Kristen. If it wasn’t for us, they all said, we wouldn’t have come this far.

Its Not OLTL Over AMC For Prospect Park

Early On Prospect Park was able to secure Frank Valentini & Ron Carlivati To Helom OLTL Thru PP. At AMC Ive heard that PP does not want Julie Currthers to be EP cause she cant keep the show under budget. There are also some actors who will not sign if Julie stays at AMC. Some AMCers wont sign I hear until they know the new EP and HW. PP wants to keep Lorriane broderick as HW But ABC is not quick to Let LB out of her 3 year deal with ABC Daytime which she signed last April. Those facts are part of the reason AMC actors are unsure as well as the time commitment from PP. Some are just burnt out over ABC's treatment of not only them but ABC as a whole.

Over at OLTL with FV and RC on Board, it was easier to sign actors IMHO because they knew who was leading the ship. Pluss even though some fans may not like Frank or Ron, they are widely respected by their cast and crew. Its easier for actors to commit when they know who will run the show.

Even though AMC may be on Hold, PP is still looking for A EP. PP has been talking to Veteran Producer/Writer, Gary Tomlin. Tomlin was the one that originally got OLTL Under Budget in 2001 and Got Days Of Our Lives its recent two year pickup. While PP would love to have Lorriane continue as HW, another name being tossed around is Chris Witesell.
Hopefully once PP settles on An EP & HW For AMC they can help get some of the cast to agree to sign on. Frank Valentini in his other role as VP Of Serialized Dramas for PP will also helping with this. Another venue PP could take is to sit down With the EP, HW and Agnes Nixon to look at show history to see who could be brought back to Pine Valley.

AMC is Not Dead, far from it but Its Hiatus has been extended But soon enough we will once again be visiting Pine Valley on a daily basis for years to come.

This is one post I read...I haven't vetted it so...Mags say that PP has put their plans for AMC on the backburner. A source tells them that AMC had been put on hold until a deal with SL is in place. They don't want to relaunch the show without her. SL's salary is the sticking point, though she is being offered the same amount she made on ABC. PP's higher ups were hopeful that AN could intervene with SL, but AN wasn't comfortable getting into SL's business. SOD says they have also heard thay a high profile AMC actor was close to a possible deal with PP but the deal fell apart at the 11th hour over salary demands. And AMCer says the OLTL cast has the benefit of knowing who their head writer & executive producer will be. That's still up in the air for AMC. The AMCer says that for them signing a four year comittment is a bigger risk (That's really strange since no OLTL cast members are saying they must sign for year deals). SOD says that while PP has slowed their plans for AMC, the deal isn't dead yet. An insider tells SOD that they are still looking for a HW & EP. The deal isn't dead yet. MA (Natalie) and the OLTLers who have signed up remain enthusiastic. MA says that she's sure everything will work out & come together & FV is working hard to make sure it does.

Prospect Park & Future Of Soaps

The thing With Prospect Park that I think some miss is that they have all this experience but TOLN is new. Its not just a website. Its internet TV. TOLN is much more than just AMC & OLTL. I actually love that PP admitted they need more money & are looking 2 investors in the silicon valley. To me its great they R being honest. I see honesty not doom & gloom. Yes we may have to wait a while longer to see AMC & OLTL on-line but im good with that. Im all for what will make these shows great productions and in turn keep them viable for years if not decades to come.

TOLN will have more than just soaps and its not easy to start a new network wether broadcast (Ask UPN, WB, CW) Or Cable (Ask Oprah--OWN) & Internet TV station has never been done and PP has to deal with the unions to get the best deal that will allow future internet shows just to happen without hangups. Thats a lot. Some just think its a website, its a snap of the fingers and its not.

Lets be honest if ur a cable provider and u look at soapnet and how that went, would u greenlight a new soap network. I doubt it. Never really understood how the coupons work and why they have to go to an individual and not just the cable companies. If a cable company greenlit an all soap channel what if we had no content? What if ABC/Sony?Bell/P&G didnt allow their shows on that channel. Then all this would be for nothing. Have folks in this soap coupons movement even thought about that?

One soap runs 260 episodes a year 5 days a week and PP is having issues with Money to run two soaps like that. What if they run both shows, M, W, F for 50 weeks. That would be 150 episodes each show and together would be 300 episodes PP would have to shell Money for insted of 520 episodes of both shows 5 days a week 52 weeks a year. Thoughts?

(He smiles seductively and she nods) Now I dont have much time, lot to do today but I say we get together. If you follow me, this path has a secluded park where we can be alone. (Dylan starts to walk away, but the girl remains seated) What's taking so long? You need an invite or something? (She is still not moving and then a shirt lands on her lap, she looks up and Dylan is shirtless). Is that enough? Um No? Ok here is more (Dylan drops his shorts and steps out of them) Still not enough huh. well here you go. (Dylan drops his underwear and walks bare ass to the trail, the woman looks, smiles and follows him)

Scene Two:
(Dylan is meeting Jenna for Coffee at an outdoor cafe)

So yes I am a third shift janitor. Not too glamours but it pauys the bills. I really had no use for college and I am good with my hands. (Dylan notices hot women walking by but tries to resist the urge to follow them. He picks up the menu but can't keep his eyes off the other women walking by) Yeah lots of good food choices here. Don't know what to do, choose, I mean Choose. (Another woman passes and she goes into the rest room area) Hey order me the club and chips. I gotta use the bathroom, thanks. OLTL: Jerry Ver Dorn Interview

On Llanview PA Radio a Podcast. (just google as I don't think we can link)

He states that PP bought all the sets and all the wardrobe and he went to a meeting last week where they explained they are not going to "gut" OLTL that it will stay and film in the Northeast. He thinks most of the actors will stay and go online and on TV. They are happy now. He's heard about Bravo also. PP is not done meeting with the different unions Actors, Writers, Cameras, Set people, etc. So til the lawyers say more that's about all they know.

He just filmed scenes with Ford about Ford/Jessica's relationship. They kind of dropped that story because they didn't know who was staying but now that "both actors" are staying they've picked it back up. (so BW and DAG stay?) He didn't name them.

He really likes working with "JP" Rex. Says Clint sees Echo and all the pain she's caused Viki when he sees "the son" and can't get over it. Clint and Viki's relationship will probably be the thing that heals Clint and Rex. He does see them reconciling in the future. Nobody can bring about redemption like Viki can.

He's filming a lot with Kim, Amanda Setton. Says they like working together. They like the story and he was really worried about it because of the age difference but it's not a golddigger and a letch. It's real between them and it's a lot of fun. Says she has to come to Llanfair to be with him. She is still filming and they want her around a lot more. Same for Tuc Watkins sounds like he'll be back also.

He thought Clint and Viki were getting together when the show was canceled but now that it's not he still hasn't seen any script that says they will reunite. He thinks all that stuff is being influenced by PP and the move.

They leave TV one day and pick up online the next.

Oh, here we go. In the chapter Gays of our Lives, I was very interested to read what you had to say about Kish. I had heard from sources that Middle America in the end was denouncing it, and that ABC was blaming the couple for their ratings woes’. And then, there was a backlash by both the mainstream and the LBGT community on how could they blame the eroding ratings at that time on OLTL, solely on Kish, when people felt the character of Stacy Morasco was shoved down their throats. And then I heard from sources, some of the same things you wrote about; that it was more about the actors, Scott Evans (Ex-Oliver) and Brett Claywell (Ex-Kyle). What do you think went down?

CAROLYN:

There are a number of things that went down. First of all, One Life tried really hard to write a mainstream gay couple, which is something no other show has done. And they were vilified from all angles. Middle America said, “I will not watch two men kissing.” And then the gay community started a backlash that they were not on enough. How you can then call the only show that is trying to tell a gay story “homophobic,” is beyond me. Some people were saying, but not enough of them, “Great, I love it. I am watching for Kish.” So here you are trying to tell this groundbreaking story and you are being hammered by people who don’t want to see it, and hammered from people who want to see more, and no one was saying, “Wow, great job.” You persevere and you put the couple together. You have a love scene and one of the guys comes out and the parent’s turn on Fish, which makes everybody go, “Oh, poor Oliver.” And that in turn, makes us sympathize with him, and makes the audience like him even more than we already did. And then my understanding is, they offered the actors contracts, and they wanted tons more money then they were offered. The quote I used in the book and that I heard was they wanted, “Robin Strasser money.” And the truth of the matter is; the guys had only been on the show nine months. And so they were told what kind of salary they could get for someone who had been on the show that length of time. They could not strike a deal. So then it becomes, “Are we going to do some recasting? Are we going to bring in another actor to play this role that we are already getting hammered on from two different segments of our viewing audience?” But then, it dovetailed into my argument, which is: Why don’t soaps just tell the truth more. If someone would have come forward and said, “We offered them a deal and the actors did not accept it, and we are very disappointed.” That would have gone down better. But, I also think it’s not fair that the one show that tried to tell this story got vilified, while The Bold and the Beautiful, while set in the world of fashion, still does not have a gay character on the show.

MICHAEL:

One of the things you mention in the book is…did OLTL head writer, Ron Carlivati, go overboard because of the same-sex wedding-a-thon, and Dorian pretending she was a lesbian to get votes to be elected mayor?

CAROLYN:

In my opinion, it was too much all at once, and did not make sense. In what community do you pretend to be gay to get more votes? Never mind that Dorian was never a liar! I mean, she has been many things, but for her to lie about her sexual orientation just did not ring true. And, it was too much with everything else they were telling on the show, and if you noticed, they knew it. Then they pulled back on it pretty fast.

MICHAEL:

The one issue I wanted to bring up that you say in the book is, that it’s hard to create gay storylines for characters, because for instance, gay people don’t have accidental pregnancies. But I say to you, Oliver Fish got Stacy pregnant after she drugged him. So in a situation like that, a male gay character can be utilized. So the beauty of that was the show did weave in the gay couple. And the thing is, if things hadn’t gone down the way they did, they had a great opportunity because of that act, to tell the story of two men raising a baby! And now we see that on Modern Family, and that was the part of the story that riveted me. I wanted the guys to get custody of that child and then see them living in Llanview dealing with that.

CAROLYN:

Listen, if Brett Claywell would have signed a contract, you would have been seeing that story playing out today! But hold on! My gay friends are not sleeping with women. If you are a gay man and you can be drugged into impregnating a woman, yes, it’s dramatic, but is just not very realistic.

MICHAEL:
Your issue is the realism, and of course I understand that. I am saying OLTL used it as a plot-device with their gay characters. Look, I do believe what you said is true. But in this case, I am like, “Well, let’s just say we suspend belief like we do with everything else in soaps.” So I am thinking, “OK, we have a gay couple and one of them fathered a child. Ok, good. We have an issue for story there that also keeps them on air.” And then I am thinking, “Good. Now there will be a fight for custody and that could be poignant.” I think OLTL rushed this story at the end because, as you say, the guys did not sign contracts, and therefore, Kish got custody very fast and were sent off the canvas.

CAROLYN:

First of all, there is no doctor at Llanview hospital anymore. (Laughs) And if the actors would have stayed you would have seen Brett Claywell playing a doctor and Scott Evans playing a cop, and they would have been roped in to all the “normal” stories – kidnappings, and baby-switches and everything else, and in addition to the romantic side of it. In the same way they are currently writing John McBain and Natalie, they could have written it that way for Kish.

We Need to support the shows that are on the air. Go to their events. Support their cast and crews.

We should support the web soaps that have sprung up out there. Get those hits up and maybe somneone who is watching will say this could work on my network or at least get them sponsors so they can get more money for better production

Maybe the coupon campaign isnt a bad idea in theory. It may not save OLTL/AMC but perhaps it could show a cable provider that their is a need for a soap channel and if we get one than down the road soaps Daily dramas can be reborn and thrive again

I believe we also need to help keep the genre alive but we neeed to look at a new model for production. I believe the telenovela for mat could work and not the way MY NETWORK TV did it. They just adapted latin american scripts.

Iam saying hire crews, writers and producers of daytime soaps to helm these. Im sure they have new drama ideas

i see these shows airing in the evening on cable stations

They could air two different ways

they could produce four different soaps and air them air one M-F at like 9 or 10pm for 12 weeks and then the same for the second and then the third and then the fourth soap. All these shows together would produce 240 episodes which is equal to one daytime drama

OR
The cable station could give the soaps a night like Friday and produce 3 soaps and produce 48 episodes each and air them weekly. from 8-11pm Once again the total episodes would be 144 episodes a year and be less than is produced for Daytime Dramas

Depending on how these are filmed, they could in theory film them all in the same studio but just change all the sets. This could help cost since they would only have to pay one Crew however, the producing & writing teams would be different

For Those Of You Who Are Participating In The Boycott Of ABC To Save AMC and OLTL A Few Things To Consider

1) There is No Need To write letters, write on FB walls or call sponsors more than once. They all keep a record and these multiples will only be counted the first time contacted & Will Not help the numbers

2) Please Be respectful in the letters, FB posts and calls. Dont berate or call out the sponsors. This goes especially at the call centers. Most of these conversations are recorded and you want to sound cool, calm and collected not over the top if anyone of power at these companies listens to them. Also While Posting On FB Defintley Be Respectful. If Posts Take Harrasing Turns, You Could Find Yourself banned From Posting On That Page & Maybe Even In Danger Of Having Your FB Account Suspended Or Deleted. How Will That Help The Cause?

3) Maybe a different tactic is needed like talking to the sponsors and explaining to them how losing the soaps will decrease the number of viewers who will not see their ads and therefore may effect how many products they sell.

Instead of telling them we will not buy your products if you continue to advertise on ABC & Their Networks.

4) Food For Thought: We Want To Save Daytime Dramas But Some In The Boycott Say Lets Not watch ABC Primetime. So Hurting Those Ratings & possibly costing many Actors, writers, Directors & Crew Their Jobs as result is fine just as long as ABC Keeps On AMC & OLTL. These Prime Time Folk Have families and have to eat and house them just as much as their dayparts do. Plus they should not have to pay for what a few people at the top Of ABC Decided To Do. I was Listening To Brandon's Buzz Last Night & Brandon talked With Mark Dobies (Daniel Coulson, OLTL; Noah Chase, GL) & He Said something I Totally Agree With. What Happened With Relationships and Family On Soaps. He Used Ryan's Hope As An Example. They Used To Do Lots Of scenes Of Folks At Ryan's Bar & Kitchen Scenes Where People Just Talked to Each Other About What Was Going On With Them. These Wonderful 7-10 minute long scenes got you so much into the head and heart of these characters. By Doing This Viewers Were immediately connected to them and their struggles.

Now a Days, These Type Of Scenes Are Few and Far Between. One Life To Live Had One This Week where Todd & Tea Were In Bed discussing The Past & Who Todd Was & How He Has evolved. that was One Of Those True Moments That Relies On History & Chemistry. Nothing More, Nothing Less. However, some fans took to message boards and said that was boring & Where's the action? Unfortunately Stunts Like Crashes, Blow Ups, Kidnappings, Mob Ties etc are now front & center. True Characters connecting with one another have been placed so far on the back burner they have fallen off the stove.

My question is how do we get back to those stories of interaction with these characters that made daytime drama so great that no one wanted to miss not only a day but a minute. I for one Don't think It's Too Late. Let's Figure This Out

HBO Books Keaton, Page & Patric

Diane Keaton has signed on to HBO's half hour comedy Tilda. Keaton will play a gossip blogger in the vein of Nikki Finke. Ellen Page will play her assistant who struggles with her job because of her morals. TV Guide.com just reported that Jason Patric has also been added to the cast and will play a media mogul. Production on the pilot starts this month in Los Angles.

Actor & friend Michael Emery Has luck on his side. Emery has just booked a supporting role in the film, The One produced by Michael Billy & directed by Caytha Jentis. The story focuses a man who plans to marry the woman of his dreams only to run into a male friend from years ago and discover that he loves him. Emery plays one of the male lead character's best friend, Luke. Filming begins on June 16th in New York City.
